Launched during the pandemic, ASA’s Pick Your Own Sponsorship (PYOS) program was created to reduce financial barriers for maintaining ASA membership. PYOS allows members to reduce their dues by 10%, 20%, or 30%, by accepting a sponsored dues reduction. Those who can assist their fellow sociologists may increase their dues by the same amounts to help subsidize the costs. Their shared support helps ensure all sociologists can remain connected and engaged.
If you wish to contribute more than 30% of your dues amount or pay for the sponsorship separately from your membership (i.e., with a different credit card), you can donate to the Membership Assistance Fund through your Member Portal and click on Donate on the dashboard. Enter the amount you would like to donate for the Membership Assistance Fund, enter a name (or ‘Anonymous’) for donation recognition, and click the Pay Now button.
