Hotels
The 2026 ASA Annual Meeting will be held at the Hilton New York Midtown and the Sheraton New York Times Square. Both hotels offer discounted room rates exclusively for ASA attendees.
Let’s make the 2026 Annual Meeting a connected and collaborative experience! Booking your room within the ASA block is one of the best ways to support the association. It helps ASA keep overall meeting costs as low as possible. Plus, staying in the block keeps you close to the action, making it easier to connect with colleagues, attend informal gatherings, and enjoy spontaneous networking opportunities throughout the meeting.
We very much look forward to welcoming attendees this August. In preparation for travel to the meeting, we would like to provide some information that might be helpful to attendees who are traveling to the U.S. from abroad. Entry into the U.S. is not guaranteed, and all travelers to the U.S., regardless of citizenship status, may face increased scrutiny and additional questioning at U.S. entry ports. The information we provide below is guidance only and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Please confer with your own legal counsel as needed.
To prepare for travel to New York, international travelers might consider the following:
- Review guidance provided by your university or other employer, and country of citizenship for travel to the U.S.
- Familiarize yourself with your rights. Here are a few helpful resources:
- ACLU: “Know Your Rights While Traveling”
- NPR: “What Green-Card and Visa Holders Should Know Before Traveling Abroad”
- Advocates 4 Trans Equality: “The Know Your Rights | Airport Security”
- Print out and bring the following:
- Visa documentation (dependent on class of admission)
- Proof of return transportation (your departure ticket from the U.S.)
- ASA Annual Meeting agenda
- Proof of lodging (hotel accommodations for your full stay in the U.S.)
- Contact information for your family and your personal attorney (if applicable)
Due to possible significant delays in processing, be sure to get started on required travel documents now. Review the U.S. State Department/U.S. Visas web page for information about required travel documentation. If you need a letter of invitation for your visa application, please complete this form and ASA will email it to you directly.
