Grant funding is available to host a winner of an ASA-wide award from the past two calendar years to deliver a lecture at a state, regional, or aligned sociological association meeting or on an academic campus. ASA grant funds cover the travel and up to two days of hotel costs. The host is responsible for registration, if applicable, and meal costs. Contingent upon available funding, ASA can support up to four such lectures each calendar year.
To apply, send a letter of inquiry with specific information about the event and the audience and indicate who is the preferred lecturer. Executive Directors or Presidents of associations or faculty (with the support of a department chair) may send this letter. Submit these materials to Mark Fernando, Director of Governance and Administration, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Questions can also be directed to Mark.
Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
