Rutgers-the State University of New Jersey. The Center of Alcohol Studies invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at either the assistant or associate professor rank beginning September 2005. We are seeking applicants with research interests in basic and/or applied research in addictions etiology, treatment, and/or prevention across the lifespan. Applicants are expected to have a strong background in quantitative methodology, data analysis including complex latent variable modeling, and data base management. Sam Houston State University. The Department of Sociology invites letters of interest for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level, effective August 2005. The successful candidate for the first position should have some general expertise and research interests in the Departmental concentration area of Globalization and should be able to conduct research and teach in the substantive areas of Environmental Sociology and Political Economy. Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Africana Studies Program, Department of Sociology. A Doctorate in Africana Studies, History, Sociology, Anthropology or related field is required. The doctorate must be completed by the time of appointment. Wheaton College (MA) invites applications for a tenure-track position in Sociology and Women's Studies for fall, 2005. This will be a joint appointment as Assistant Professor of Sociology and Women's Studies. We seek a feminist scholar who will teach half-time in Women's Studies (including Introduction to Women's Studies and Feminist Theory) and half-time in Sociology. Priority will be given to a sociologist who can teach and do research on the Black Community, Race and Ethnicity, Social Policy (particularly as regards poverty), and Black Feminist Thought.
