Editorial Selection Calendar

 

September: Call for editor proposals appears online and in printed in the Fall (October) issue of ASA Footnotes.
 
November 1: Initial indication of interest in applying for an editorship due to ASA via email ([email protected]).

December 1: Editor proposals due. Proposals are accepted via postal mail or e-mail.
 
December/January: Publications Committee reviews proposals and sends a rank list to ASA Council for review and approval.
 
February/March: Council makes formal decision on editor(s); ASA Secretary negotiates with selected candidate and informs other candidates. Following verbal agreement, selected candidate signs formal letter of agreement (PDF)

July/August: New editorial office opens and begins accepting new manuscripts. Editor-elect is responsible for issues published the following volume year.
