ASA Pre-Conference Workshop

"I just wanted to thank you again for a great Pre-conference workshop! I went to a few other Teaching & Learning events and I really feel like I've found my people in ASA! Beyond the ideas and enthusiasm, I really like the support that I saw teachers offering other teachers!"

-Rachel Leventhal-Weiner

The 2013 ASA Section on Teaching and Learning Pre-Conference Workshop, "Universal Design: Interrogating Inequality in Learning" was held on August 9th in New York City.

The workshop, facilitated by Melinda Messineo, was an interactive and collaborative learning experience for all of the attendees. Kristenne Robison spoke about the role emotional intelligence plays in student learning and development. Keith Roberts introduced the idea of deep reading and deep learning to our attendees. We also had a panel on "advice for new graduates" and multiple break out sessions where attendees could get their questions answered and hone their skills. Take a look at the pictures from the event below and we hope to see you next year!
