Our section benefits from a very active and diverse membership, spanning methodological and theoretical approaches. Membership is an especially important component of a healthy section, as it determines the number of paper sessions we can host during the annual meeting, and therefore, the number of researchers that can present their very interesting work.

Please find below a message from Alya Guseva, of the Membership Committee concerning our latest membership drive:

Dear Econ Sociology Section Members,
This is a follow up on our membership campaign. We reached 872 members by October 1, and would like to thank everyone who recruited their colleagues and students. We did not get to the coveted 1000 members mark… but on the bright side, this is the largest our section has been historically. Did you know that our section doubled in size in the past 10 years? If you are curious, here is the 10-year long membership data for all the sections.

We are going to resume the campaign in December and January, especially among non-US based economic sociologists. So please keep spreading the good word about our section, and the exciting upcoming program in Denver in August.

*Do not forget to renew you own ASA membership.

Welcome to all the new members, and we look forward to seeing you all in Denver.
