Summary:

Minority groups represent a small number of sociology PhDs.The number of PhDs earned increased to levels closer to the pre-Great Recession (2008-2009) years for white, and increased or fluctuated for Black/Non-Hispanic and Hispanic, while continuing to fluctuate for Asian/Pacific Islander.
