Editorial Selection Calendar
|August: Committee on Publications reviews editorships ending in approximately 18 months and begins selection process, drafting call for editor proposals.
September: Call for editor proposals appears online and in printed September/October issue of ASA Footnotes.
November 1: Editor proposals due.
December: Committee on Publications reviews proposals and sends a rank list to ASA Council for review and approval.
February: Council makes formal decision on editor(s); ASA Secretary negotiates with selected candidate and informs other candidates. Following verbal agreement, selected candidate signs formal letter of agreement (PDF).
July/August: New editorial office opens and begins accepting new manuscripts. Editor-elect is responsible for issues published the following volume year.
