Trends in Sociology and Social Science Degrees
The data below illustrate degree trends in sociology and selected social sciences since 1930, including trends by gender and race/ethnicity. These tabulations are largely based on Integrated Post-secondary Educational Data System (IPEDS) Completions Survey data collected by both the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Center for Education Statistics, available to the public via NSF’s WebCASPAR data table tool.
