2013 ASA Annual Meeting Film Screening

All film/video nominations (in DVD format) should be post marked by February 25, 2013 Submission Criteria:

The Academic and Professional Affairs Program is accepting new submissions for the 108th Annual Meeting to be held in New York City.  The ASA film screening usually showcases between 18 and 22 documentary-style films during the Annual Meeting.

The film screening program traditionally features short documentary films that illustrate sociological concepts and are used as teaching resources.  This year, in addition to the regular "stand alone" film screenings that are offered at the Annual Meeting, we are exploring the option of inviting a small number of local filmmakers to lead mid-day screenings and discussions of their films.  Please indicate if the filmmaker, producer, or director of each submission would be available to lead a post-screening discussion when you send in your submissions.

ASA Members, filmmakers and distributors who wish to propose a film for inclusion in the 2013 screening series may submit a copy of the film/video and a brief description of the work that notes its relevance to sociological instruction and research. The requirements for film submissions are :
