The Pierre Bourdieu Award

This award is for the best book in the Sociology of Education published in 2011 or 2012. Nominations, including copies of the book (either print version or PDF), should be sent to all committee members (listed below). Any questions regarding the award should be directed to Award Committee Chair, Elizabeth L. The James Coleman Award

This award is for the outstanding article in the field of sociology of education published in 2011 or 2012.  Please send nominations and an electronic copy of the nominated article to Award Committee Chair Florencia Torche (New York University) at ft237@nyu.edu.  The deadline for nominations is February 1, 2013.
 

The David Lee Stevenson Award

This award is for the outstanding graduate student paper in the field of sociology of education in 2011 or 2012.  The author (or first author) must be a graduate student at the time of submission and all authors must have been graduate students when the paper was written.  The paper may be unpublished, under review, or published (in 2011 or 2012).  Please send nominations and an electronic copy of the nominated paper to Award Committee Chair Douglas L. Lauen (University of North Carolina) at dlauen@unc.edu.  The deadline for nominations is February 1, 2013.
 

The Willard Waller Award for Lifetime Achievement

This award is for lifetime achievement in the field of sociology of education. It is made every three years.  Nominations should include a recent CV and description of the nominee’s career contributions that make him/her deserving of the award.  Please send nominations to Award Committee Chair, Tom DiPrete, Columbia University, at tad61@columbia.edu.  The deadline for nominations is February 1, 2013.
