American Sociological Association: 2010 Annual Meeting | Expense Estimate
It's not too early to begin planning your participation in the next ASA Annual Meeting, August 14-17, 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia. After a number of northeast and northwest meeting locations, ASA is pleased to return to the South for the next Annual Meeting. Atlanta is one of the easiest continental US cities to visit, with Hartsfield Airport serving as the hub for Delta and AirTran Airlines and featuring service by most major carriers. Access to downtown from the airport couldn't be easier with a MARTA (subway) station right at the airport.
|Registration. All Members may preregister for the Annual Meeting when they renew their memberships online for 2010. This year there is also early sign up for accessibility services, child care service, conferences for chairs and directors of graduate studies, and special benefit receptions.
Full Registration will open in April 2010, when the rosters of Courses, Didactic Seminars, and Tours are posted with the preliminary program schedule. Preregistrants will be able to add these activities to their existing preregistrations at that time.
All program participants (member and non-member) must preregister by May 14, 2010, to retain their listings in the Final Program.
Airfare. For an airfare estimate, browse the Internet or call your local travel agent or preferred airline for current fare quotes. Please check the ASA website on the spring to see whether any airlines are offering discounted fares to meeting attendees.
Housing. The room rates at both hotels where 2010 Annual Meeting activities will be held are $179 per night, plus applicable taxes. The hotel room rate includes internet use in the guest room.
Meals. Prices are lower than most major US cities. You should be able to get by on $35-50 per day for moderately-priced meals.
