2012 Department Survey to Remain Open Through December

clipboard

The ASA Research Department on the Profession and the Discipline often receives inquiries from individuals and the media about the latest information on the characteristics of sociology departments, including faculty demographics. This critical information is gathered through the ASA’s five-year census of U.S. academic sociology departments and reflects what department chairs have indicated are the most relevant data for policy and planning purposes. Due to the demand that ASA has seen for such information, the 2012 Department Survey will remain open until the end of December so that more departments will have time to answer. The survey is set up so that you can assign portions to be answered by others. We highly encourage department chairs to ensure that they have completed the survey, which can be accessed at websurv.indiana.edu/asadept12/login.cfm. Department chairs or administrators who have not received an email invitation to participate may contact Indiana University’s Center for Survey Research at csr@indiana.edu or (800) 258-7691 to request a survey access code. For more information, visit www.asanet.org/research/current_research_projects.cfm#department.
