The annual ASA Employment Service assists sociologists and prospective employers, augmenting the monthly Employment Bulletin.
The ASA Employment Service provides convenient opportunities for employers and job seekers to make initial contact. During the Annual Meeting in San Francisco last year, 79 employers listed 114 positions, including 21 openings outside academia. 351 candidates registered with the service, and 1,540 screening interviews were scheduled.
This year’s Employment Service will be open from Friday afternoon to mid-day Tuesday, August 12-16, at the Philadelphia Loews Hotel.
Forms for listing positions (Employer Forms) and applications for individuals (Candidate Profile Forms) are printed in this special meeting supplement; pdf files may also be downloaded from the ASA website. Profiles of preregistered candidates received by July 1 will be sent to preregistered employers prior to the Annual Meeting. Candidate profiles received after July 1 will be distributed on-site in Philadelphia.
Please check the Annual Meeting website for more details about Employment Service procedures, including interview processes, and scheduling.
