The annual ASA Employment Service assists sociologists and prospective employers, augmenting the monthly Employment Bulletin.
The ASA Employment Service provides convenient opportunities for employers and job seekers to make initial contact. During the Annual Meeting in Atlanta last year, 63 employers listed 85 positions, including 7 openings outside academia and 3 post-doctoral opportunities. 321 candidates registered with the service, and 1,089 interviews were scheduled.
This year’s Employment Service will be open from Friday afternoon to mid-day Tuesday, August 13-17, at the Hilton San Francisco.
Forms for listing positions (Employer Forms) and applications for individuals (Candidate Profile Forms) are printed in this special meeting supplement; pdf files may also be downloaded from the ASA website. Profiles of preregistered candidates received by July 1 will be sent to preregistered employers prior to the Annual Meeting. Candidate profiles received after July 1 will be distributed on-site in San Francisco.
Please check the Annual Meeting website for more details about Employment Service procedures, including interview processes and scheduling.
