| Whites were over-represented among full professors (the largest rank of faculty), and blacks were slightly over-represented among assistant professors, in academic year 1997-98, compared to their share of PhDs in relevant cohorts. The small numbers of Asians, Hispanics, and Native Americans were equally represented compared to their share of PhDs. |
