2007 Convention Logo

The 102nd ASA Annual Meeting will be held at the Hilton New York and the Sheraton New York in downtown Manhattan. The Hilton will host the ASA Exhibits, Registration, Bookstore, and Employment Service. The ASA Child Care Service will be housed at the Sheraton, which is across the street from the Hilton. Program sessions and social events will be held at both hotels.

Blocks of sleeping rooms for ASA meeting attendees have been arranged at the two co-headquarters hotels.  These two hotels are located in the area of Manhattan called Midtown West (42nd to 59th Streets on the West Side), which is near Times Square. The Hilton New York is at 1335 Avenue of the Americas (Sixth Avenue between 53rd and 54th Streets); the Sheraton New York is on 811 Seventh Avenue (between 52nd and 53rd Street).

Hotels will not refund guarantees/deposits unless cancellation is received at least 72 hours prior to arrival. Please check your hotel confirmation for the specific policy at that facility.

Accessibility Needs   [Details]

When making a hotel reservation, you may request audio, visual, or mobility assistance. If you want ASA Meeting Services to verify that your accessibility request(s) will be honored, please send your accessibility request to ASA after you have made your reservation. Send accessibility requests to: ASA Meeting Services, 1307 New York Avenue, NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20005-4701; fax 202-638-0882; meetings@asanet.org.

Student Accommodations   [Details]

The co-headquarters hotels are unable to offer discounted rates to students. Several options for less expensive housing options for students are shown below. Formal room blocks are not being held at these properties for ASA, so students may make arrangements directly with the facility of their choice.

Apple Core Hotels is a private company that runs five hotels under names you are probably familiar with: Comfort Inn, Super 8, La Quinta, Red Roof, and Ramada. These properties provide clean, comfy accommodations for travelers staying in and around Manhattan, who didn't come to the Big Apple to pay sky-high New York prices. Visit http://www.applecorehotels.com to check availability and rates, or call the hotels listed below.

Comfort Inn Midtown (212) 790-2722
La Quinta Manhattan (212) 736-1600
Ramada Inn East Side (212) 790-2722
Red Roof Inn Manhattan (212) 790-2722
Super 8 Hotel Times Square (212) 790-2722

Hostels.  The least expensive way to sleep in New York City, aside from bunking with a friend, is to forego hotel amenities and stay in a hostel or the local Y.

Hostelling International - New York (212) 932-2300
YMCA - Greater New York (212) 756-9600
