Annual Meeting Expense Estimate

If you are trying to put together an expense estimate to request travel funding to attend the 2008 Annual Meeting in Boston, the following information should be helpful.

Registration. All Members may preregister for the Annual Meeting when they renew their memberships online for 2008. This year there is also early sign up for accessibility services, child care service, conferences for chairs and directors of graduate studies, and special benefit receptions.

Access to Employment Service.  Registration will open in April 2008, when the rosters of Courses, Didactic Seminars, and Tours are posted with the preliminary program schedule. Preregistrants will be able to add these activities to their existing preregistrations at that time.

All program participants (member and non-member) must preregister by May 7, 2008, to retain their listings in the Final Program.

Housing. The room rates at the hotels where 2008 Annual Meeting activities will be held are $200-220 per night, plus applicable taxes.

Meals. Prices are higher than most major US cities. If you are careful, you may be able to get by on $40-75 per day for moderately-priced meals.
