Ralph H. Turner was elected to serve as the 60th President of the American Sociological Association. His Presidential Address entitled "The Public Perception of Protest," was delivered at the Association's Annual Meeting on September 3, 1969 in San Francisco, California. Following the meeting, his address was published in the December 1969 issue of the American Sociological Review (ASR Vol 34 No 6, pp 815-831).
