  Honors Program Advisory Panel

The ASA Honors Program provides undergraduate sociology students with a rich introduction to the professional life of the discipline.  Through a competitive process, exceptional sociology students from throughout the country and the world are selected to come together for four days during the ASA annual meeting.  By participating in the Honors Program, students develop long-lasting networks with other aspiring sociologists while their sponsoring departments have a chance to “showcase” their own quality programs and their most outstanding students. The Advisory Panel reviews applications from students interested in participating in the Honors Program. The Advisory Panel for the Honors Program is composed on 9 people serving 3-year terms.  Three people rotate off the committee each year and 3 new people are appointed each year. Recommendations for replacements are made by the Executive Officer and are presented to Council in August for approval.
