Online Footnotes Site Redesigned
- The online Footnotes site has been redesigned to
complement the design of the current printed issues. In addition to the graphic redesign, the new structure of the online edition has been reorganized to be more “user friendly” and easy to navigate. Read the new April issue online.
2008 Annual Meeting
- The 2008 preliminary online program schedule will go live on the 2008 Annual Meeting homepage on Friday, April 25. The online program is searchable by participant name, session title, or individual presentation title. PDF files of each day’s program schedule will be available by April 30, but for the most up-to-date information, use the program database.
- Deadlines for Program Participants: May 7 is the deadline to preregister for the meeting to maintain your listing in the Final Program. Any changes to session listings for the Final Program must be received by Meeting Services (meetings@asanet.org ) no later than May 30.
- Accommodations: Blocks of sleeping rooms for ASA meeting attendees have been arranged at the three co-headquarters hotels, the Hilton Back Bay, the Sheraton Boston, and the Boston Marriott. Visit the Housing page on the ASA website for details.
- Check out the roster of Plenary Sessions which focus on the interconnections between work—broadly conceived—and society.

2008 ASA Election
- Voting in the 2008 ASA election is now open. Eligible members may vote via paper ballot or online using the login information contained in their paper ballot or in email notification sent from the election vendor. Biographical information for all candidates is available online.

2008 Member-Get-a-Member Campaign
- From now until July 15, the American Sociological Association challenges ASA members to encourage their colleagues, students, and others interested in the discipline of sociology to join ASA for 2008. Each current member who sponsors a new member is eligible for special recognition and 2008 rewards. Join us as we make 2008 a record-breaking year! Read more.
Shine a Light on the Work of BA Sociologists
- The Academic and Professional Affairs Program is looking for brief profiles of recent (past 10 years) BA sociology alumni who are engaged in interesting, successful careers for a Career DVD project. Please send former students' names, contact information, and a brief description of their work to apap@asanet.org.
