August 18th, 2014, 4:30-6:30
The Comparative Historical and Global Transnational Sections of the ASA are pleased to announce that their successful joint mentoring event held last year in at the ASA Annual Meeting in New York will be repeated again on Monday, August 18th during the ASA meetings in San Francisco.
The event pairs graduate students and postdocs from departments across the world with both junior and senior faculty to discuss the substance of students' projects, exciting intellectual currents in the field, and professional development concerns germane to those conducting historically-and globally-oriented research.
This August, the event will be held in the late afternoon, 4:30-6:30 at Cantina Lounge two blocks from the ASA hotels. A modest registration fee ($15) will reserve a position in the event and provide a drink ticket for refreshment. Space is limited, so please register by sending an email to Nick Wilson and Damon Mayrl as soon as possible.
