The Economic Society Section is a relatively young session, having been established in 2001. Nevertheless, for the past seven years, it has been steadily serving more than 800 members who come from diverse methodological and theoretical approaches. This places the Section among the 10 largest sections in the ASA, and it is a tribute to the health and vitality of the Section. Besides providing members with access to various resources, networking opportunities and a chance to contribute to programming of Section activities during the annual meeting, membership count is of paramount importance because it determines the number of paper sessions we can host during the annual meeting, and therefore, the number of slots available to scholars to present their work. So please do not forget to renew your section membership, and suggest joining the Section to your colleagues and students. Stay tuned for the membership drive immediately following the annual meeting. If you are curious, here is the 10-year long membership data for all the sections.
