To place a job ad, you will need to supply basic information, such as institution, job title, region, position/rank, salary range, and job description. The job description and employer description can easily be pasted into the online form. You can also upload your institutions logo. There are no ad dimensions, no word limits, and no deadlines. You will need your department or institution login to post a job in the Job Bank. Individual members cannot post jobs through their personal ASA account. Job ads are $250 for the first 30 days and $200 for each additional 30 days. Department Affiliates receive a 20% discount. You do not have to be a Department Affiliate to post a job. Purchase orders are not accepted. The ad will be posted after payment is processed, approximtely 1-2 business days after the ASA receives payment.

Jobs are posted to the Job Bank only after the ASA has received payment, either by credit card or check. Once payment is received, the Job Bank Administrator will review the job and activate it on the Job Bank within 1-2 business days. The job duration starts once the job is activated.
You can make changes to your job at any time. Login to your Job Bank account and select the listing you would like to edit. Make your changes to the ad. When you are finished, click the Submit Changes button at the bottom of the page. There is no fee to make changes to your job listing.
There are no deadlines. Jobs are posted 1-2 business days after the ASA receives payment.
The ASA does not knowingly accept postings from employers that, contrary to laws that apply to their institution, discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation, and gender identity or expression. ASA also strongly encourages all employers to abstain from such discrimination even if laws applicable to their institution permit it.
The ASA Job Bank wants to make your job known to our members. So that they can be informed of any forms of discrimination permitted by your institution, we require that employers placing ads answer a series of questions clarifying the institution’s discrimination policy. If any of the listed forms of discrimination are allowed by your institution, it will be noted under your job posting.

Purchase orders are not accepted for Job Bank listings. Job ads may be paid for online with a credit card (American Express, Visa, or MasterCard) or you can print an invoice and send payment to the ASA either by fax at (202) 638-0882 or by mail to ASA, 1430 K Street NW, Suite 600, Washington, DC 20005. When entering your credit card information online, please only enter the first five digits of your billing address zip code.

The ASA wants you to get the most out of your job ad and this feature will allow you to send information about your Job Bank listing directly to your target audience. When you post your job in the ASA Job Bank, you will be able to select up to two ASA Section listservs to have your job distributed to at no additional fee.
ASA Sections are officially recognized groups of ASA members who share interests in a specific sociological topic. Sections organize sessions at the ASA Annual Meeting, publish newsletters, and have moderated listservs for their members. See a list of all ASA Sections here.
When you enter your job in the Job Bank, you will notice two drop-down fields. All ASA Sections are listed; you may select up to two. Once your job is activated, an email will be sent to the selected section listservs with the job ID, institution, department, job title, position/rank, and areas/special programs and a link to the Job Bank for full information about the listing.
If you would like your listing distributed to more than two sections, you may contact additional sections indivdually and ask to have your listing distributed to sections members. Please note: Your job must first be listed in the ASA Job Bank before it can be distributed on a section listserv.
