Volunteer to be a Regular Session Organizer

The 2019 Program Committee is seeking volunteers to organize sessions for the open submission regular paper topics. The deadline to volunteer is February 2, 2018. Volunteering does not guarantee an invitation to organize. Anyone volunteering to organize an open submission regular session must abide by the guidelines governing such work and meet the eligibility requirements.

To volunteer:
1. Log in with your ASA username and password on the ASA portal
2. Under the header Annual Meeting, click on the link "2019 Volunteer to Organize a Regular Session"

Organizer Guidelines

  • All Regular Sessions must be open to submitted papers.
  • Regular Session organizers may not impose pre-planned themes nor engineer a private set of participants.
  • Regular Session organizers may not present their own single-authored paper in the Regular Sessions that they organize.

Organizer Eligibility

  • Session organizers must be current members of the Association.
  • If an individual has previously served as an organizer for: Informal Discussion Roundtable, Open Refereed Roundtable, Visual Media Presentations, Regular Session, section open paper session, or section roundtables (refereed or informal), there must be at least a two-year hiatus before serving in that capacity again.
  • Students are not eligible to serve as Regular Session organizers.
  • The submission and management of papers is conducted online. Organizers must have reliable internet access and be available to carry out their tasks.
