2012 ASA Annual Meeting Film Screening
 

Submission Criteria:  

All film/video nominations (in DVD format) should be post marked by March 1, 2012

The Academic and Professional Affairs Program is accepting new submissions for the 107th Annual Meeting to be held in Denver, Colorado.  The ASA film screening usually showcases between 18 and 22 documentary-style films during the Annual Meeting.

ASA Members, filmmakers and distributors who wish to propose a film for inclusion in the 2012 screening series may submit a copy of the film/video and a brief description of the work that notes its relevance to sociological instruction and research. The requirements for film submissions are :

  • Submissions must include a copy of the nominated film.
  • All films must fit into a 50 or 80 minute course block.
  • Films must relate to the field of sociology.
  • No more than 8 films can be submitted from one filmmaker, member, or distributor.
  • All films must have closed captioning or a transcript that can be made available at the time of screening.
  • Please submit a brief description of the film and if possible note the films relevance to sociological instruction and research.
  • All film/video nominations (in DVD format) should be post marked by March 1, 2012, to:
